"Addressing the Global Rise in Antimicrobial Resistance "
About the Committee
Welcome to the World Health Organization (WHO), the international body responsible for public health and well-being around the globe. In this committee, delegates will tackle one of the most urgent health challenges of our time: the global rise in antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
Antimicrobial resistance occurs when bacteria, viruses, and other microbes develop the ability to resist the medicines designed to kill them—such as antibiotics. This makes common infections harder to treat, leads to longer illnesses, and increases the risk of death. AMR is a growing threat that affects all countries and puts millions of lives at risk.
As members of the WHO, delegates will work together to explore the causes of AMR, such as overuse of antibiotics, lack of awareness, and poor medical practices. The goal is to develop practical and cooperative solutions to slow down resistance and protect global health for future generations.
This committee encourages teamwork, creative thinking, and a strong understanding of both science and international cooperation. Let’s work together to fight back against this silent global crisis!
